Send Judah First!

I think it's safe to say that all of us have faced obstacles in our path from time to time.  You know what I mean.... those mountains that seem unclimbable.  Walls that seem unscalable.  At times it seems that every circumstance stands in the way of our destiny...like a vast army set like flint to stop our forward progress...they loom like dark clouds on the horizon... sure to rain on the parade the second we step out in faith.  In vain we burst headlong....in a full run we meet the immovable object... only to find ourselves with an Excedrin headache.  After several attempts we sit ....frustrated...tired....it's about that time we realize we should consult the Father.  You remember Him...the mountain mover...the storm calmer...The door opener... the One who makes all things possible.  What then is Daddy's response..."SEND JUDAH FIRST"

Judges 20:18
The Israelites went up to Bethel and inquired of God. They said, "Who of us shall go first to fight against the Benjamites?"  The LORD replied, "Judah shall go first."  NIV

Does your Christianity work?

I was in business for a few years before going to the mission field.  In business there is one question answered before cutting payroll check.  Do my beliefs work or not?  The cash flow tells the story.  The week before starting our 16 years on the mission field one of our Elders, Paul Kocher, said to me, “What God calls he pays for”.  He did, thank you Lord.  So really there is not that much difference between a business and church.  Is God’s blessing on your work?  Maybe you use the devil as an excuse for not having God’s blessing.  If so then your devil is bigger than your God!  Does your Christianity work?

It seems that Christianity has changed into a belief system that we call “our faith”.  We protect “our faith” at all costs.  If someone does not agree with our version of faith then we are offended at them and seek some type of separation from them.  In Christianity it does not matter if there is no power in the message as long as we are right.  Does your Christianity work?

Jesus said that we would do greater works than he did (John 14:12).  He said that He would never change.  Some say that the greater works is bringing people to salvation .  That may be true but wait!  Look at that scripture again.  It says, “...works that I do shall he do also; and greater [works]..”.   The word salvation is the Greek word “Sozo” which means salvation, healing, and deliverance.  So even if the greater works is salvation it still must include everything Jesus did.  Does your Christianity work?

Paul said that he fully preached the gospel by the power of signs and wonders (Romans 15:19).  Paul told us to desire earnestly the gift of prophesy.  Jesus told his disciples to go and heal the sick.  Angels showed up on occasions.  Christian had trances, dreams, and visions.  Paul claimed to speak in other tongues more than anyone else.  He spoke of 12 gifts of the Spirit that operate in the church.  Just believing all of God’s Word is for today does not make us right.  Does your Christianity work?

Mark 16:20 should humble every preacher of the Gospel.  Jesus said that He would confirm the word that we preach with signs following.  Apparently if there are no signs then God is not confirming the word you are preaching.  This means that God does not agree with most of the stuff people are preaching.  I went to Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry in Redding California because God has been confirming His Word at Bethel church with many mighty signs and wonders.  People accuse us of having false signs and wonders.  Ok then you prove it!  Show me your true signs and wonders.  If there is a false then there must be a true and apparently the critics have it.   Does your Christianity work?

If you do not have the salvation, healing, and deliverance ministry that Jesus modeled, no matter how solid you think your doctrine is, then you are teaching or listening to a false message.  It is a message based on human experience and interpretation of those experiences.  God is not impressed with your message as He refuses to confirm it.  If you own a public business your stock holders should receive the expected dividends.  If you can’t fix the problem then they should take their investment elsewhere.  Please ask yourself a question.  “Does my Christianity work?”

Do You Sing or Do You Thud?

One of the all time favorite passages in Scripture is James 1:2-8.  I  have heard it preached at least a hundred times.  Each time the message is met with resounding amens and loud hallelujahs.  The fact is..... these verses are excruciatingly  painful. The truth of them are pointed and are directed at the very heart of our character.  They go directly past the pretty exterior of our fancy trappings and touch that secret place in our hearts. That place where all our secrets hide....

James 1:2-8
Consider it a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides. You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors.  So don't try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way.  If you don't know what you're doing, pray to the Father. He loves to help. You'll get his help, and won't be condescended to when you ask for it.  Ask boldly, believingly, without a second thought. People who "worry their prayers" are like wind-whipped waves.  Don't think you're going to get anything from the Master that way,  adrift at sea, keeping all your options open.(from THE MESSAGE)

Remember Mercy

Matthew 20:29-31 (The Message) "As they were leaving Jericho, a huge crowd followed. Suddenly they came upon two blind men sitting alongside the road. When they heard it was Jesus passing, they cried out, "Master, have mercy on us! Mercy, Son of David!" The crowd tried to hush them up, but they got all the louder, crying, "Master, have mercy on us! Mercy, Son of David!"
I'm in a really uncomfortable time in my life and I need answers. Actually I desperately need answers....Where do I go from here? How do I get there? When do I leave? I'm agitated! It's like that old song "I went to the enemies camp and took back what he stole from me" Well I went there.... got stuck there....now I can't find my way out. How did I get here.....How did I go from being on the cutting edge of God's move to this hard place...very long and boring story...suffice it to say...it was the culmination of wrong turns and personal issues that let the enemy push me away from who I truly am...right into the proverbial rock and hard place. So here i sit...blinded...crying out for all to hear...HAVE MERCY!!!! Don't try and shut me up because I HAVE to HAVE His touch! I don't care if it makes you uncomfortable. I'm HUNGRY for the WORD of the LORD. HAVE MERCY!! I pray for just one more moment in HIS Presence!! HAVE MERCY!!~
Habakkuk 3:1-2 (The Message) "A prayer of the prophet Habakkuk, with orchestra: God, I've heard what our ancestors say about you, and I'm stopped in my tracks, down on my knees. Do among us what you did among them. Work among us as you worked among them. And as you bring judgment, as you surely must, remember MERCY."
I'm not satisfied with hearing the testimony....the history of what the Father has done. I am not interested in reading about it....I want to make HIS-story!! To be a real and tangible part of His end time move!!
Psalm 40:2 (Amplified Bible) He drew me up out of a horrible pit [a pit of tumult and of destruction], out of the miry clay (froth and slime), and set my feet upon a rock, steadying my steps and establishing my goings.
Why am I being so vulnerable? Because I know I'm not the only one in this predicament. I'm not alone...there are others scattered along the way needing answers too! Others who join the chorus....."Remember Mercy" There's hope fellow choir members. God has already found you and He has heard the cry of your heart...the answers on the way!! My answers are on the way!!! The day is coming when the lost ones will take their stand upon the Rock.
Ezekiel 34:11 (The Message)
"'God, the Master, says: From now on, I myself am the shepherd. I'm going looking for them. As shepherds go after their flocks when they get scattered, I'm going after my sheep. I'll rescue them from all the places they've been scattered to in the storms. I'll bring them back from foreign peoples, gather them from foreign countries, and bring them back to their home country. I'll feed them on the mountains of Israel, along the streams, among their own people. I'll lead them into lush pasture so they can roam the mountain pastures of Israel, graze at leisure, feed in the rich pastures on the mountains of Israel. And I myself will be the shepherd of my sheep. I myself will make sure they get plenty of rest. I'll go after the lost, I'll collect the strays, I'll doctor the injured, I'll build up the weak ones and oversee the strong ones so they're not exploited."

Through the Window

You know what the problem with the world is?  War...Hunger...Abortion...maybe global warming or poverty.  While it's true we could come up with an endless list of problems..and it seems as though the Earth is spinning apart and what left is a wake of human devastation.  The truth is... there is just one main main issue that if resolved, would bring world back into order....What the world lacks is>>>>VISION!

When Dee and I were in Youth Ministry we had a Junior High student named...let's call him Harold.  Harold's mother would constantly be after him to tuck in his shirt...wash his face...brush his teeth.  Every morning, before sending him off to school she would make sure everything was in order...but by the time he got to the classroom his shirt would be untucked...hands dirty from playing with frogs...breath nasty because someone dared him to eat a worm.  This went on for weeks until one fateful morning...Harold was walking the halls to his next class and spied Susan.  The next day he showed up to school with his shirt tucked in...his teeth brushed...breath minty fresh   Let me ask you....What made the difference for Harold?  Was it the constant nagging of a loving mother...NO!!>>>  Harold caught the Vision!

In His Presence...Never the Same Again

Several years ago I had a dream....Jesus came to me in the form of a lion.  He walked up to me and placed His paws in my hands.  As He did I could feel pain shoot through my hands...then blood appeared.  I pulled my hands away and put them behind my back.  I felt shame...humiliated that I was in that condition.  As I shrank away I felt Jesus arms wrap around me and He spoke these words...I will never forget them....He said  "In as much as you have shared in my suffering.  Those wounds...those scars... will become badges of honor that you will wear throughout eternity"

I didn't fully understand what was meant by those words until recently.  As I was thinking about the sacrifice that Jesus made at Calvary.  I remembered the glorious transformation that took place in the tomb.  Jesus resurrected... presents himself to his followers ...

Sunday night services

I am very excited about what has been happening during our Sunday night service.  We have begun to see revival breakthrough.  We are seeing more of the Holy Spirit and less of us.  I am excited about the increase in our worship time.  We have had several outstanding worship services with different teams.  One of those awesome times was with Kevin Cates.  Kevin, Dee, and their daughter Victoria are somewhat new to Family of Faith.  Kevin will be leading worship on a regular basis on Sunday nights.  I believe we will have a night of Worship and seeking Father God's heart the next time Kevin is able to lead.

The word Glory speaks about the way God comes on us.  People react different ways.  Many of us are seeking a closer walk with God.  Jesus loves us so much and wants to be part of our daily life.  His intention was never to save us from our sins and then for us to wait until death to experience His Presence.  You can walk in His Presence now.  He fills us with laughter.  This is caused by the new wine.  New wine is mentioned in Acts chapter 2.

Do You Hear What I Hear?

I recently re-watched the movie "August Rush". If you haven't seen it you need to! It's a wonderful story about an orphan boy (Evan Taylor/August Rush) who is a musical prodigy in search for his lost parents. Early in the story Robin Williams Character asks August this question....
"Do you know what music is? It's God's little reminder there's something else besides us in this universe. Harmonic connection between all living beings everywhere, even the stars."
How wonderfully profound! Who would have thought that Hollywood would stumble onto the foundation of all creation. A few minutes later in the movie we see the two characters staring out a window at the sky having this conversation...
"You know what's out there? A series of higher tones. It's arranged by nature. It's governed by the laws of physics of the whole universe. It's an overtone, it's an energy, it's a wavelength. And if you're not riding it, good Lordy, you'll never hear it."

"Where do you think it comes from? What I hear."
" I think it comes from all around you, really. I mean, it... Comes through us, some of us. It's invisible, but... But you feel it."
"So only some of us can hear it?"
"ONLY SOME OF US ARE LISTENING."
So here's my theory... I believe that the very fabric of God's nature was woven into creation from the beginning of time. A DNA of the Fathers Kingdom principles passed on from generation to generation. A song, if you will, that started being sung at the wave of the Composers hand in the beginning of time and has weaved it's way throughout history (His-story) and is continuing even now....Can you hear it? A mighty symphony resounding from horizon to horizon....a chorus of God's glory pounding the seashores...it's wonderful isn't it...the deafening roar of creation shouting the praises of the Creator. It makes me want to throw my hands in the air...hold my head high and just take a DEEP breath of His Presence!!
Psalm 96:11-13 (The Message) "Let's hear it from Sky, With Earth joining in, And a huge round of applause from Sea. Let Wilderness turn cartwheels, Animals, come dance, Put every tree of the forest in the choir— An extravaganza before God as he comes, As he comes to set everything right on earth, Set everything right, treat everyone fair. "
Psalm 98:8 (Amplified Bible) "Let the rivers clap their hands; together let the hills sing for joy"
The world longs to hear it...they ache and groan. They know something is missing, but just can't seem to put their finger on it. They try and reproduce it , but fall woefully short. If they could just be still and know...they would hear it. That song the Fathers sings over all of us....
Zephaniah 3:17 (New International Version) "The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing."
What then becomes of us? The ones who hear the music. What should our response be to this beautiful cacophony. We should sing back to the Father...We should dance and shout. True worship springs up from the spirits of those who are responding to what the Father is directing!! Not just some song being sung in service. It's a response of spontaneous emotion or obedience...it's raw...honest...heartfelt to the bones..it almost feels like it would hurt if we did not release it....Have you ever been there? As we release that worship ...the atmosphere around us changes...Our outcry creates a God-Shaped space that the Father delights to fill. As He comes...we see His glory..the very nature of God fills the room!! WOOOO HOOO!! I'm just bathed with the Spirit as I write this.
Romans 1:20 (Amplified Bible) For ever since the creation of the world His invisible nature and attributes, that is, His eternal power and divinity, have been made intelligible and clearly discernible in and through the things that have been made (His handiworks). So [men] are without excuse [altogether without any defense or justification]

One of my spiritual fathers asked me a question early one morning....." is God speaking to You?" I answered .... "Maybe......I'm listening" Are you listening? Because I promise...God is speaking..and singing....and dancing over you!!!
LET'S TOGETHER JOIN THE MIGHTY, MIGHTY CHORUS.!!!
